" Type of plant from which the molasses extracted (molasses sugar cane, molasses sugar beet) should be declared on the label;
" Labelling and adjoining explanatory statements shall be in Arabic and, where another language is used, it shall be alongside the Arabic. All the information provided in another language shall be identical with those written in Arabic. |

- State the phrase (high caffeine content) if caffeine exceeded 150 mg/L;
- State the nutritional information for the content;
- Labelling and adjoining explanatory statements shall be in Arabic and, where another language is used, it shall be alongside the Arabic. All the information provided in another language shall be identical with those written in Arabic. |

It also describes label requirements as follows:
- The percentage of fructose (42% or 55%);
- Starch source (high fructose syrup from starch);
- Labelling and adjoining explanatory statements shall be in Arabic and, where another language is used, it shall be alongside the Arabic. All the information provided in another language shall be identical with those written in Arabic. |

This Draft Technical Regulation specifies the requirements stated in the Gulf Standard "GSO General requirements for athletic food" under clauses 5 & 7 (packaging & labelling) as mandatory requirements such that the product shall be packed in hygienic containers which protects the characteristics and quality of the product. In addition container and packaging material shall be made only safe substances and suitable for their intended use.
It also describes label requirements as follows:
- Name of the product followed by food supplements for athletes with references to the category of nutrient "amino acids, vitamin, minerals" if necessary;
- List of ingredients involved in production;
- Nutritional value or facts in 100 g or 100 ml or serving as quantified on the label;
- Name and address of manufacturer, country of manufacture, name of registration body and registration number if possible;
- Name and address of the importer, name of registration body and registration number if possible.
- Instructions and age of use;
- Statement "not given except with the consent of a doctor or dieticians";
- Cautionary statements if needed, especially in situations that may cause allergic reactions to certain individuals;
- Net weights or volume and in the case of tables, the number of tablets shall be declared;
- Date of production and expiration date;
- The statements "Keep away from reach of children";
- Conditions of storage;
- Labelling and adjoining explanatory statements shall be in Arabic and, where another language is used, it shall be alongside the Arabic. All the information provided in another language shall be identical with those written in Arabic. |
