The following paragraphs of the voluntary standard, SI 5418, dealing with resistance to ignition of mattresses and similar products, shall be declared mandatory: -Paragraph 3.6 - Mattress; -Paragraph 3.7 - Mattress pad; -Paragraph 3.9 - Resistant to ignition; -Paragraph 4.1.1 - Concerning mattresses and mattress pads and all that concerns low hazard (domestic use) as appears in Table 1; -Paragraph 6a) - "conforms to BS 7177:2008 for domestic use (low hazard)" of paragraph 6 dealing with mattresses and mattress pads This standard adopts the British Standard BS 7177: 2008 and this declaration is in line with the mandatory standardization objective to protect human safety. Manufacturing and importing of mattresses and mattress pads will be permitted for a period of 90 days after publication in Israel's Official Gazette. Selling of these products will be allowed for an additional 120 days.

Revision of the Mandatory Standard SI 5563. This draft standard revision adopts the British Defence Standard 91-91 - Issue 7: 18 February 2011. The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follows: -Adds paragraph 4.2 dealing with materials and requires that only additives approved by the British Ministry of Defence's (MoD) Aviation Fuels Committee shall be permitted. Details of approved additives are given in Annex A; -Changes the following quality assurance requirements in paragraph 5; -Replaces paragraph 5.2 and requires that the refinery issue a certificate of quality (Annex J) to certify that the batch of fuel complies with all of the requirements of this standard; -Replaces paragraph 5.3 and requires that in order to certify compliance with the quantitative limits (Table 1) a representative sample shall be drawn using appropriate procedures such as those outlined in IP 475 and ASTM D4057; -Adds a requirement to paragraph 5.4 that extends traceability; -Changes the fuel's test method in paragraph 5.6.1. This test method checks for compliance with the European Standard EN 14214 or the American Standard ASTM D6751, and applies either the IP585 or the IP590 method; -Changes the test requirements in Table 1 as follows: -Adds to paragraph 2.6 dealing with the refining components at point of manufacture, a requirement to test non hydro processed and synthetic components; -Adds a requirement to Note 17 that where a Static Dissipator Additive (SDA) is added at point of manufacture the micro separometer (MSEP) limit of 70 shall apply; -Adds to Annex A dealing with the list of qualified additives a new paragraph A.4.3.3 stating that the suitable method for the determination of Stadis 450 at the point of manufacture is IP 568 or ASTM D7524.

This draft standard revision adopts the European Standard EN 939: January 2009, with the following changes that appear in the standard's Hebrew section: -Changes the normative references in paragraph 2; -Adds to paragraph 4 dealing with visual appearance, sub-paragraph 4.1.a - visual appearance; -Changes paragraph 4.2 dealing with the composition of commercial product; -Deletes the column dealing with chemical parameters from Table 5 of paragraph 4.4; -Adds to paragraph 5.1 dealing with sampling the following sub-paragraphs: 5.1.1 ­sampling from tanks and tankers; 5.1.1.1 - sampling from shuffled tanks and 5.1.1.2 - sampling from non-shuffled tanks; -Allows for additional acceptable test methods in paragraph 5.2 dealing with analysis; -Adds to paragraph 6 dealing with labelling, transportation and storage a requirement to comply also with Israel Mandatory Standard SI 2302 parts 1 and 2; -Adds to paragraph 6.1, dealing with transportation in tankers, a requirement to comply also with Israel Standard 819 part 4; -Adds to paragraph 6.2, dealing with risk and safety labelling according to EU directives, a requirement to label packages; -Changes the requirements of paragraph 6.4 dealing with marking; -Changes Annex A (normative) dealing with general information on hydrochloric acid; -Changes Annex B dealing with the general rules relating to safety, to B.1 (normative annex) - Rules for safe handling and use and B.2 (informative annex) - Emergency procedure, including a change in annex B.2.2 dealing with spillage; -Replaces the reference to Israel National Health Regulations (sanitation of drinking water) in the bibliography.

Amendment to "Car Tires and Inner Tubes Import and Custom Release Order" published by Israel's Ministry of Transportation on June 17, 2004. This amendment adds a new paragraph 7.2 (on page 2) which requires that tires manufactured according to standards ECE 30 and 54 should comply with "Regulation (EC) no. 1222/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the labelling of tyres with respect to fuel efficiency and other essential parameters", of 25 November 2009.

The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follows: -Changes the requirements for surge current in paragraphs 13.4-13.5; -Removes paragraph 16 dealing with dust test; -Extends the description for maximum temperature rise in Table 17.1 to two extreme conditions: short or long term; -Adds a new jarring test to paragraph 21.1; -Adds a new requirement to the vibration test in paragraph 21.2 to comply also with dielectric withstanding voltage; -Adds paragraphs 29 and 34 dealing with corrosion tests; -Adds new paragraphs, 40 through 44, dealing with protective cover and accessories.

This draft standard revision adopts the American Standard ANSI/UL 217 -Sixth Edition: 25 August 2006, and its updates to 28 July 2011, with the following changes that appears in the standard's Hebrew section: -Changes paragraph 201 dealing with references to fit Israel's legislation; -Adds a remark to paragraph 2 "General" stating that the metric system used in Israel is preferable; -Adds a new paragraph 202 allowing the use of independent smoke detectors as isolated units; -Changes paragraph 9.3.1 dealing with radioactive materials and applies Israel Pharmaceutical Regulations; -Changes paragraph 18.2 dealing with the power supply cord and adds a reference to Israel Mandatory Standard SI 1220 part 2; -Changes paragraph 25.4 dealing with lamp holders and lamps and adds a reference to Israel Mandatory Standard SI 60238; -Changes paragraph 30.1 dealing with transformers and coils and prohibits the use of autotransformers to protect consumer safety and to prevent electrocution; -Removes the requirements of paragraph 32.1 dealing with spacing and instead applies the requirements of paragraph 2.10 of Israel Mandatory Standard SI 60950 part 1; -Changes the requirements of Table 33.1 of paragraph 33.3.1 dealing with test voltages and removes voltages illegal in Israel according to Israel's Electricity Law, leaving only 230V test voltage for 220-250V nominal voltage and rated voltage; -Removes the requirements of specific sub-paragraphs, 34.1.5, 34.1.9 and 34.2.2, in paragraph 34 dealing with normal operation test. These sub-paragraphs deal with the connectors and characteristics of independent detectors that are not authorized for use in Israel; -Removes the requirements of specific sub-paragraphs, 36.1.2 and 36.6, in paragraph 36 dealing with electrical supervision test. These sub-paragraphs deal with the connectors and characteristics of independent detectors that are not authorized for use in Israel; -Replaces the dust test method in paragraph 57 and instead applies the requirements of Israel Mandatory Standard SI 981 for protection level of IP5X or IP6X; -Removes paragraph 61 dealing with corrosion tests; -Adds to the chapter dealing with manufacturing and production tests a remark before paragraph 86 stating that the tests stated in this chapter should be performed only if the manufacturer cannot present a test report according to the relevant UL American Standard or to the European Standard EN 54, that includes all data required in this chapter; -Changes the marking requirements of radioactive materials appearing in paragraph 92.1; -Changes the package marking requirement in paragraph 93.1; -Changes Appendix A dealing with standards for components and adds references to Israel laws, regulations and standards.

The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follows: -Changes the requirements for plastic in paragraph 4.2.3; -Changes the requirements for timber in paragraph 4.2.4; -Changes the testing requirements in paragraph 5; -Replaces the first sentence of paragraph 6 dealing with marking and instructions and instead states in the standard's Hebrew section that "only ladders that comply with Israel Mandatory Standards SI 1847 parts 1 and 2 or SI 1847 part 4 can be marked with a Standard Mark. Only the Standards Institution of Israel (SII) has the official authorization to authorize use of the Standard Mark.
