Workshops and Training
The Standards Services Group (SSG) organizes workshops and educational seminars for domestic and international audiences. Since 1995, U.S. industry has looked to the NIST Standards in Trade (SIT) Workshop Program to provide opportunities for cooperation on important topics related to standards, conformity assessment and trade that are important to the success of their businesses. SIT has conducted over 50 workshops in the U.S. and abroad on a wide variety of topics, ranging from roadway infrastructure and safety to information technology, building construction codes to renewable energy and lighting, and much more.
NIST's SSG also offers training for federal, state, and local government agencies on the fundamentals of documentary standards and conformity assessment. Each workshop is tailored to meet the specific needs of the requesting agency. Full and half day workshops are available free of charge, as budget and schedules permit. SSG staff may also participate at relevant training events offered by other government agencies, upon request.
