2014 NIST Standards in Trade Conference:
Conformity Assessment in the ASEAN Region

The National Institute of Standards and Technology, Standards Coordination Office convened a Standards in Trade Conference for the ASEAN Economies on Conformity Assessment in the Electrical and Electronics Sectors on March 24-27, 2014, in Gaithersburg, Maryland on the campus of NIST.
The objective of this workshop was to share best practices to support the ASEAN communities' evolving standards cooperation and economic integration goals as the ASEAN community moves toward its goal of economic integration by 2015. The information exchange focused on conformity assessment as a key component of trade practice and regulation, and the role of product marking to support Conformity Assessment programs. The agenda covered the U.S. standards and conformity system and included reports from all ASEAN economies on their conformity assessment and standardization practices.
