The Management of Market Surveillance and Regulatory Activities in Product Safety Systems
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) are collaborating with the Organization of American States (OAS) and Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) to provide training to government product safety and health officials from Latin America and the Caribbean on best practices for regulatory, conformity assessment, and market surveillance systems. CPSC will provide two days of training about CPSC’s compliance and hazard identification and reduction work and NIST will speak about the U.S. standards and conformity assessment systems and the work of the InterAmerican Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC).
The training program will take place at OAS’s General Secretariat Building located on 1889 F Street, N.W., Washington, D.C from February 28 – March 04. All the sessions from Monday – Thursday will be transmitted live on the web (link to webcast here) and interpreted into Portuguese and Spanish. A draft agenda is now available in Spanish and English.
